Shalom I leave you, My shalom I give to you; but not as the world gives! Do not let your heart be troubled or afraid." (John 14:27)

Despite the violence and tensions we have seen between Israel and Gaza, God is at work on both sides of the border, and the Gospel is reaching the most unlikely places. IDF commanders in training recently invited some of our staff to explain our faith to them, and we are seeing a remarkable response to the Gospel in the Gaza Strip.

As part of their preparation, Israeli soldiers in training learn more about the land and society of Israel, including all the different social groups and religions. It is a joy for us to share with others about Yeshua and the new life he brings – to both Jew and gentile! Moti tells us what happened in the most recent presentation they gave in Jerusalem:

"These young people were just looking for God. Everyone was really interested and wanted to know more. They asked very deep questions and understood that being a Messianic Jew is actually believing in the Jewish Messiah! Please pray for each and every one of these young people who are going to be the next commanders in the IDF to come to know Yeshua."

We were excited that several members of the group recognized us from our evangelistic videos and from social media. Also, we took a young Ethiopian believer with us, and it turned out that a number of the group were Ethiopian Jews. They tend to be even more cautious about believing in Jesus than other Israelis, as they experience enough discrimination already without making things even worse by crossing the socially unacceptable line of accepting Jesus. But still, they were open to hearing what we had to share, and at the end, all the New Testaments we left for people to take had gone!
